Viz.ai Secures $100M to Expand AI-Powered Stroke Detection Platform

Viz.ai, an Israeli AI startup, has been awarded $100 million for its AI technology that can detect brain conditions through scans.

Viz.ai is a medical tech company that develops an AI-powered platform for stroke detection and treatment. The company has received a $100 million investment at a $1.2 billion valuation, making it Israel’s newest unicorn.

The company announced Thursday that it will use the Series D funding to expand its Viz platform in order to detect and triage more diseases, and to grow the customer base worldwide.

Viz.ai’s latest round of funding was led by Tiger Global Management. A New York-based firm that specializes in software and financial technology, Tiger Global Management is backed by Insight Partners. Tiger Global Management has invested in Israeli firms such as cybersecurity companies Snyk, SentinelOne and payroll tech companies Papaya Global, and HoneyBook. Insight Partners, a foreign investor very active in Israeli companies with at least 76 portfolio startups, includes privacy startup PlainID and bee tech startup Beewise.
