Robots with self-awareness that rebel against their creators, not just sci-fi

Some people are concerned about this tiny form of self awareness in robots. They fear this will pave the path for AI to take over humanity. These fears are unfounded as robots are still a long ways off from being self-aware and capable of volition.

It is not yet clear to what extent we can call ourselves self-aware. We are aware of our bodies and their functions, but that’s about it. Each of us has a different degree of self-awareness. Most of us are still at the beginning of our evolutionary journey, which could lead us to one day become aware not only of the individual self, but also the Supreme Self.
