Researchers claim China’s ‘brain scale’ AI rivals human brain

South China Morning Post reports that scientists in China have run an artificial intelligence (AI) model on their supercomputer as sophisticated as the human brain.

According to the report this puts China’s Newest Generation Sunway Supercomputer on the level of the U.S. Department of Energy Frontier supercomputer, which was named as the world’s strongest supercomputer earlier in the month.

Frontier is the only machine that has demonstrated its ability to perform over one quintillion calculation per second.
