Bug hunting: How to beat hackers

A new innovative collaboration between EPFL’s HexHive Laboratory, and Oracle, has created automated, far-reaching technologies in the ongoing battle of IT security managers versus attackers. The hope is to find bugs ahead of the hackers.

The world of IT security was in shock on the 9th December 2021. Hackers exploited the log4j software, which is part of the Apache suite, used by most web servers, before its developers were even aware. They took control of servers, data centers, and other servers around the world.

The Wall Street Journal broke a story that no one wanted to hear. \”U.S. Officials say that hundreds of millions devices are in danger. Hackers can use this bug to steal data or install malware.
