Waymo’s L.A. Robotaxi Fleet is going fully driverless

Waymo’s robotaxi test fleet, Alphabet Inc.’s multi-billion dollar bet on self driving cars and trucks is getting rid of the human safety drivers in Los Angeles, as the company prepares to launch a ride service for commercial use in the United States’ second largest city.

Alphabet Inc., which has invested billions of dollars in self-driving vehicles and trucks, is not yet ready to offer paid rides. However the next major commercial market will be San Francisco after Phoenix.
