AI-powered language model generates functional protein sequences
First time a model of a human language was used to synthesize proteins.
Lately, AI models have been flexing their muscle. ChatGPT, a platform that understands human languages, has recently become the poster child. A team of researchers have now tested a language to create amino acids sequences. This shows the ability to mimic human biology and evolve.
The language model named ProGen is capable of generating sequences of proteins with a degree of control. This result was obtained by teaching the model the protein composition. This is the first experiment to use a language-model to synthesize proteins.
