In a society that has suffered a nuclear war, robots with blue skin and silver eyes, who look like humans, are a common sight. The population is suffering from a declining birth rate, and they have become dependent on them. A fanatical group tries to stop the robots becoming too human for fear that they might take over. A scientist is working on creating replicas of humans that are able to feel and remember emotions.
