Tesla Vision is replacing ultrasonic sensors with a new technology.

Tesla announced today it will no longer use ultrasonic sensors as part of its Autopilot sensor suite, but instead will be using its camera-only system \”Tesla Vision\”.

Tesla announced last year that it would switch to \”Tesla vision\” Autopilot, which does not use radar. It will also stop producing cars with a radar facing the front.

Tesla originally claimed that the Autopilot sensor suite would eventually include all of the necessary components to enable full self-driving capabilities. This included eight cameras and a radar facing forward, as well as several ultrasonic sensors around each vehicle.
