Scientists have made a significant step in developing electronic skin with artificial hairs.

Hairs are a ‘natural touch.’ They allow us to detect different sensations, such as smooth and rough, and also the direction of the touch.

Researchers at the Chemnitz University of Technology claim that the e-skin could be used in a variety of ways, including as a skin substitute for humans or artificial skin for humanoid robotics.
