Ankita Garg writes: ChatGPT gained popularity in a short time because it provided accurate and good responses to all queries. Microsoft announced their AI-powered Bing Tool to follow suit and offer people a better experience by using artificial intelligence. Microsoft’s ChatGPT-powered Bing made a number of mistakes during its public demo last weekend, and the results were inaccurate.
Dmitri D. Brereton, an engineer and writer at Microsoft, revealed that the AI-backed tool Microsoft used to quote the incorrect operating margin for Gap during its demo event. According to the tool, Gap had an operating margin of 4.6 percent. However, Gap’s earnings report shows that it was 5.9 percent.
It also gave fake results in terms of growth in net sales. The tool reported net sales growth of low double-digits but in fact it was in the mid-single-digits in the fourth fiscal quarter 2022.
