Mainframes, a hardware staple that has been around for decades, are still a major force in modern times.

IBM is one of the few vendors who still builds mainframes. Today, IBM announced the LinuxOne Emperor 4, the latest version of its Linux-focused system. IBM has been developing LinuxOne systems ever since the Emperor mainframe was introduced in 2015. The platform has been updated every two years.
