Colombian judge uses ChatGPT to make ruling

The AI chatbot ChatGPT was used by a judge in Colombia to prepare a decision in a case involving the medical rights of children.

Judge Juan Manuel Padilla used the text-generating robot in a case that involved a request for an autistic boy to be exempted from paying fees related to medical appointments, therapies and transportation due his parents’ low income.

Padilla said on Blu Radio Tuesday that ChatGPT, and other similar programs, could be helpful to \”facilitate\” the \”drafting of texts\”, but \”not in the intention of replacing\” judges.
