Experts: 90% online content will be AI-generated by 2026

Since quite some time, the advice \”Don’t trust everything you read on the Internet\” is pretty common. According to a recent report by Europol, the European law enforcement agency, we should be even more vigilant.

The report warns that \”experts estimate up to 90 percent of content online may be synthesized by 2026.\” Synthetic media is \”media generated or manipulated with artificial intelligence.\”

The report stated that \”most synthetic media are created for gaming or to improve services, but the increased use of synthetic media and better technology has led to the possibility of disinformation.\”
