Wireless charging for electric vehicles is now possible thanks to research
Imagine driving your Tesla or equivalent electric vehicle down the highway. Your battery is low. You could stop at the next exit to search for a charging station. But that would take time and energy. You could change lanes, and drive over the special charging strips embedded into the road.
Khurram Afridi is an associate professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the College of Engineering. He is pioneering a new approach to wirelessly charging electric vehicles, autonomous trucks, and other mobile machines while they are in motion.
Researchers at Cornell have developed a new approach to wirelessly charging electric vehicles, machines and other devices while they are in motion.
