Scientists from around the world have created miniature robots inspired by sea cucumbers, which can easily switch between solid and liquid states.
According to a press release, the material used for building these robots is a \”magnetoactive liquid-solid phase transitional machine.\” They are magnetic and conduct electricity.

The researchers tested the robot’s mobility by putting it through a course of obstacles, where the robot liquefied and moved through prison bars. This move is reminiscent of the Terminator 2 robot T-1000, which could liquefy at will and change its shape.
