New robots can reduce the fear of injections in medical treatment
Wearable robots can help patients who fear needles.
Recent research in Japan revealed that a soft robot, which can be held by the patient’s hand, could improve their experience during medical treatments such as injections or other unpleasant therapies.
Inspire by vaccinations during Covid
In part, the research was inspired by the many needles that people endured while getting vaccinated for Covid-19. A few people were afraid of these needles. This led to fewer people being vaccinated and a reduction in rates. There have been many studies that explain the pain and anxiety of patients during treatment. However, few have studied or discussed solutions to help them.
