Understanding the Worries and Excitement of Americans about Artificial Intelligence

What Americans think of artificial intelligence

Artificial intelligence (AI), which is a growing part of society, has impacted many important areas of life. From health care to legal services and agriculture, Americans are both excited and worried by this growth.

A larger percentage of Americans are concerned about the increasing use of AI. Nearly half (45%) of U.S. adult say they are both concerned and excited. When asked to describe in their own words their biggest concerns about AI, those who are less excited than concerned cite potential job losses, privacy concerns, and the possibility that AI could surpass human abilities. Others say AI will cause a loss of connection with humans, or misused.

Others are \”more concerned than excited\” and mention things like the improvements to society they hope to see, the time and efficiency AI can bring in daily life, and how AI systems could be useful and safer at the workplace. People have mixed opinions on whether or not three specific AI applications will be good for society.
