Elon Musk posted a fascinating and unsettling theory about a brain parasite that could force all humans to develop advanced AI last night.
Tesla’s CEO responded to an article from National Geographic that described how toxoplasmosis – a parasite commonly found in cats – causes hyenas, which are often aggressive towards predators like lions – to become reckless. Musk made a stunning and possibly facetious leap in logic when he suggested that toxoplasmosis is what causes humans to develop advanced artificial intelligence.
