Lensa, the popular AI avatar app, undressed without my consent
My avatars are cartoonishly pornified while my male co-workers get to be astronauts and explorers.
I wanted to achieve the same results as some of my colleagues from MIT Technology Review when I used Lensa. Digital retouching apps were first released in 2018, but have recently gained popularity thanks to Magic Avatars. This AI-powered feature creates digital portraits based on selfies.
Lensa created realistic and flattering avatars of them, such as astronauts, warriors, or cool album covers for electronic music. But I ended up with a lot of nudes.
