The battery is designed to be stored in a freeze-thaw condition for the entire year.
It uses a \”freeze-thaw design\”. Scientists in the United States have just published a study that shows an aluminum-nickel battery can retain 90% of its capacity after 12 weeks. The new battery, which has an energy density per kilogram of 260W/hour, was constructed with an aluminum cathode and an anode made from nickel, both immersed in an electrolyte containing molten salt.
Soft robotics, including the Metaverse, could benefit from this breakthrough.
