Meta trained an AI using 48M science papers. The site was shut down after 2 days

Galactica’s goal was to \”organize the science\” but instead it spread misinformation.

Science moved at lightning speed in the first year after the pandemic. In the first year of COVID, more than 100,000 papers have been published. This was an unprecedented effort by humans that has produced an unprecedented amount of information.

No human being could (and, perhaps, no one would want to) read and understand all of these studies. No human could (and perhaps none would want).
