Rupert Sheldrake is a biologist, author, and PhD. He is best known for the hypothesis of morphic resonance. He was a Clare College Fellow at Cambridge University, where he studied developmental biology. He was the Principal Plant Physiologist for the International Crops Research Institute of the Semi-Arid Tropics, Hyderabad, India. He was the Director of the Perrott Warrick Project for Research on Unexplained Human and Animal Abilities, administered by Trinity College in Cambridge, from 2005 to 2010. Sheldrake is the author of a number of works, including A New Science of Life, The Presence of the Past, The Rebirth of Nature, Seven Experiments That Might Change the World, Dogs That Know when Their Owners Are Coming Home, The Sense of Being Looked at, The Science Delusion, Science Set Free, Science and Spiritual Practices, Ways of Going Beyond and How They Work.

Rupert delivered a speech entitled The Science Delusion, at TEDx Whitechapel on January 12, 2013. The night’s theme was Visions for Transition – Challenging Existing Paradigms and Redefining Values (for a More Beautiful World). The talk was removed from TED’s website, relegated in a corner, and marked with a warning after two materialists protested.
