Ian Hutchinson’s concerns for existential risk after minute 42.
Ian Hutchinson, a nuclear scientist and plasma physicist from MIT, is a nuclear engineering expert. He has made many important contributions to plasma physics, including magnetic confinement, in order to make fusion reactions – the source of energy for stars – practical. As we have discussed, current nuclear reactors are fission-based. Ian has written about the philosophy of science, and the relationship between religion and science.
