Combining Neuroscience with Psychology and AI yields a foundational model of human thought
Artificial General Intelligence: From Human Intelligence
Humans are able to learn quickly and have a vast set of skills. They do not need to be reengineered in order to achieve this. It is possible that an AGI could be created using a different approach from that of human intelligence. As three researchers with extensive experience in AI and cognition science, we have chosen to take inspiration and gain insights from the structure and function of the human brain. By working towards AGI, we are trying to better comprehend the human brain. We also want to better understand AGI.
The research of neuroscience, cognitive sciences, and psychology has shown that the brain is not a homogenous mass of neurons or a set of programs designed to solve a specific problem. It is actually a collection of different regions that are responsible for supporting the cognitive abilities that make up the human brain.
