Researchers create new AI that adapts to changing environments
Can robots adjust their working methods in order to solve complex problems? Researchers from Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden have developed a form of AI that, by observing the behavior of humans, can adapt its tasks to a changing environment. Robots with this flexibility will hopefully be able work more closely alongside humans.

\”Robots working in human environments must be adaptable, as humans are unique and may solve the same problem in different ways. Maximilian Diehl is a doctoral student at Chalmers University of Technology’s Department of Electrical Engineering and the main researcher of the project.

If we are asked to do a simple task like setting up a table, there may be several ways that we can approach it, depending on our circumstances. We can choose to walk around a chair that suddenly blocks our path or move it. We take pauses and alternate between our left and right hands.
