EU countries adopt common position on artificial intelligence rulebook
The EU ministers approved a general approach towards the AI Act during the Telecom Council’s meeting on the 6th of December. EURACTIV gives a brief overview of the major changes.
The AI Act is an important legislative proposal that regulates Artificial Intelligence based on the potential for harm. The EU Council has completed the first step in the legislative process. The European Parliament is expected to complete its version by March of next year.
Ivan Bartos is the Czechia’s Vice Prime Minister for Digitalisation. He said that the final compromise text of the Czech presidency takes into consideration the main concerns of member states, and maintains the delicate balance of protection of fundamental rights while promoting the uptake of AI technologies.
