Computer scientists have developed a new system to help AI understand the goals of humans

Researchers in the U.S.A. and China developed a new communication paradigm between humans and AI.

Artificial intelligence systems can be opaque to those without the relevant technical background or enough time to delve into the code.

It doesn’t need to be this way.

Teams of researchers are racing around the world to create AI systems that communicate with human operators in a way they understand. One of these teams just made a major step forward. A team of researchers from China and the U.S. published a paper on the 13th July in the peer reviewed journal Science Robotics. They present a framework they call \”explainable AI,\” or XAI.
