It’s time for a systemic reset of AI and technology governance
How can we make sure that the technologies being developed today are used to benefit the entire community, and not just a few select individuals?
ChatGPT, when asked about the impact of artificial intelligence on the human condition, responded that AI would \”change people’s perception of their abilities and skills, and alter their senses of self.\” AI could also \”change people’s senses of identity and purpose,\” and \”change how people form and maintain their relationships, and impact their feeling of community and belonging.\” We are impressed when it warns us eloquently about its potential impact on human sense of purpose, self, and belonging. Large language models are only as good as what they have been fed.
