Researchers Say it’ll be Impossible To Control A Super-Intelligent Artificial Intelligence
Scientists will decide in 2021 whether we can control a super-intelligence computer. The idea that artificial intelligence could overthrow humanity has been discussed for decades. What is the answer? Almost definitely not.
It is important to note that in order to control a super intelligence that is beyond our comprehension, we would need a simulation that we could analyze (and then control). It’s not possible to simulate it if we can’t understand it.
The authors of a new paper suggest that we can’t set rules like ’causes no harm to humans,’ if you don’t know what scenarios an AI will come up with. We can’t set limits once a computer system has reached a level beyond the capabilities of our programmers.
