Apple launching search engine to rival Google
Apple is developing a search engine that will rival Google, as well as making improvements to Spotlight Search. This was reported in a recent article by The Information.
According to the report, Apple’s search technology has suffered setbacks due to a loss in talent. Apple bought Laserlike in 2018, a machine-learning startup founded by three ex-Google search engineers, to boost its own web engine. The technology of the company recommended websites based upon a user’s browsing history and interests. Laserlike’s founding team is reportedly returning to Google.
