CRISPR could be replaced by a new AI-powered gene editing technique
CRISPR could be facing a tough fight, thanks to this new AI-powered, faster and safer zinc-finger technique for gene editing.
Researchers have developed \”the world’s first\” simple and modifiable proteins. These special proteins, called \”zinc finger\”, were partly developed through artificial intelligence.
Scientists at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine and the University of Toronto developed the method. It is expected to accelerate the development of gene therapy. It could change the way doctors treat DNA errors that occur over time. It’s partly because mistakes are inevitable as our genes naturally change with age. You can also get genetic disorders from birth.
