The automatic extraction of content and web pages from apps

Content management systems, or CMSs, are the most common tools for creating content online. In recent years they have evolved into the backbone of a complex ecosystem of mobile apps, websites and platforms. To simplify processes, a group of researchers at the Internet Interdisciplinary Institute of the Universitat Operta de Catalunya has developed an open source model for automating the extraction of CMS content. Their research has been published in Research Challenges in Information Science.

Open-source is a scientific prototype which allows you to extract data structures and libraries from each CMS. This software can then be used as an intermediary for the content between the front-end and the final application (which the user uses). The entire process is automated, which makes it a scalable and error-free solution.
