Unlocking the Possibilities: Invention Allows Amputees to Control Robotic Limbs Through Mind Reading

Making Mind-reading Possible: New invention allows amputees to control a robotic arm with their mind
The University of Minnesota has developed a team of researchers who have made it possible to read minds using electronics and AI.

Researchers from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities created a system which allows amputees operate a robot arm using brain impulses instead of their muscles. This new technology allows for more precision and is less intrusive compared to previous methods.

Most commercial prosthetics on the market today are controlled from the chest or shoulders using a harness and wire system. Sensors are used in more sophisticated models to detect tiny muscle movements above the prosthetic limb. Amputees may find it difficult to master both options and they can sometimes be unhelpful.
