A Ban on ChatGPT in China: Regulators Warn Tech Companies to Stay Away

Google, Facebook YouTube and Wikipedia were previously banned.

According to a Nikkei report, regulators in China have instructed big tech companies to not offer ChatGPT to the public.

Some Chinese companies are working on their versions of ChatGPT and some have said they are about to release public versions.

Reports in China are surfacing that AI chatbots developed by Microsoft-backed OpenAI generate responses that would be otherwise censored or repressed by the Chinese Communist Party.
