Elon Musk hires team to develop OpenAI ChatGPT’s rival
The war has begun.
Elon Musk approached AI researchers about creating a new lab in recent weeks to develop a ChatGPT alternative, The Information reported on Sunday, citing sources with direct knowledge of this effort.
The report stated that Tesla and Twitter Chief Musk is recruiting Igor Babuschkin. Babuschkin was a researcher at Alphabet’s DeepMind AI division who left the unit recently.
The report was released after ChatGPT – a text chatbot created by OpenAI, which can write prose, poetry, or computer code at will – gained wide attention in Silicon Valley.
