The scandal surrounding the chess game is overshadowed by AI’s Grandmaster status
Magnus Carlsen – the world champion chess player – accused Hans Niemann – a U.S. Grandmaster – of cheating in their match at the Sinquefield Cup held in St. Louis (Mo.) last week. Thus, he made clear an accusation that he had been hinting about for weeks.
Carlsen, to date, has not provided any evidence or details about the cheating. All agree that computers were involved in the cheating. Carlsen’s rating of 2,856 was higher than any other player. Everyone seems to have taken sides.
